“Brady Bangerter’s SUV windshield shattered from the snow of a plow truck going the opposite direction.
“It was absolutely a scary experience” Bangerter says.
At about 10:30am on New Year’s Eve, Brady was using the exit ramp of U.S. 89 at Gordon Avenue when snow came out of nowhere and smashed into his windshield.
“All the way across, big hole on this side, I mean it was all the way across, ripped the windshield wiper off” Brady says of the damage.
While Brady was driving north, a snowplow was driving south clearing an elevated portion of the parallel service drive.
Some of the snow and ice traveled over a sound wall, which is roughly five feet tall, in that stretch, and right onto Brady’s passing car.”

We’ve all seen the massive snow piles flung from plows towards the sides of roads and highways. However, it seems pretty careless that such methods would be used so close to oncoming traffic. Even if a median or sound barrier separated traffic there is always the risk of it flying over as it did here. The victim not only suffered windshield damage but also bruises and cuts to his hands.
