“Kia is recalling every 2014-2016 Cadenza sedan—about 30,000 vehicles in total—to fix a problem with the windshield. The automaker says that the windshield glass may not be properly bonded to the body of the vehicle and may come loose or detach. This could increase the risk of a crash or injury.
Owners of the affected vehicles may also notice water leaks or increased wind noise.
In documents provided to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Kia says that it’s not aware of any crashes or injuries related to this problem but that there have been at least 256 warranty claims and 24 customer complaints about loose windshield glass.”

This is the latest example of an auto manufacturer not using the best bonding material or practices for the windshield. Still, a little credit is deserved for initiating the recall based on complaints rather than waiting for an accident. Like most recalls, it will be free of charge for customers to have their windshield fixed at their local Kia dealership.
