“A new bill has been introduced this week, and if it passes there could be changes ahead for businesses in New York. The new bill, also referred to as A 1201, would focus on ensuring auto glass replacement standards are more in line with the federal motor vehicle safety standard requirements.
A 1201 would also expand on the current law related to industry replacement standards by adding several sections. The additional sections should clarify any doubts related to the current law and also be more in line with current American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standard known as ANSI/AGSC/AGRSS 004-2018.”

We don’t view this as a bad thing, of course. Anything that enhances safety should absolutely be considered. While this particular bill only affects New York residents, similiar bills in other states could follow. Key components of the bill include using glass products and retention systems that meet specific requirements.
